Goodbye and Thank You from the Parent-Teacher-Student Organization (PTSO)
To Parents, Staff and CHS Community,
It is with a heavy heart that we are writing to you today to inform you of the decision of the current PTSO board and members at large to disband the group. This decision did not come lightly to all of us, however, given the following conditions, it is a necessary move:
-
Unable to recruit new members through various channels - Move Up Day of the incoming freshman class; Back-to-School night; School Messenger Emails; CHS Crimson Notes
-
The current budget is unsustainable:
-
Given the large number of booster clubs for and organizations at CHS, PTSO fundraising becomes challenging so as not to coincide with the other fundraisers.
Given all of these reasons, we have decided that effective March 1, 2019, the PTSO will cease and desist all operations. The remaining funds in the bank will be dispersed as follows:
-
Photographer for this year’s graduating seniors (Class of 2019).
-
Contribution to the annual spring Staff Appreciation Breakfast.
-
Remaining funds to be equally divided among the current four classes (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors) to be deposited into their Student Activity Account to use for whole class events.
We sincerely appreciate all of the support we have received, especially to those who have faithfully contributed to the group with their donations - either monetarily or with their time during various events. You have been the reason we have continued as long as we have, out of gratitude for your support; we cannot thank you enough.
Sincerely,
Robin Wirbal, PTSO President
Rebecca Bliss, PTSO Secretary
Nicholeen McDonough, PTSO Treasurer
