We are an informal club of readers who gather together during WIN to talk about what we are reading, have time to read, and celebrate books and bookish things. This is an informal club that (so far) has not assigned a certain book to the group, but just talked in general about what everyone is reading.

Concord Crew is a co-ed rowing team providing high school students from Concord and the surrounding areas (this is NOT a Concord High School sport) with the opportunity to experience all the sport of rowing has to offer: competition, team building, fitness, community service and, yes, fun. We accept athletes from the greater Concord, New Hampshire, area. We attend several fall races each year (usually including the Textile River Regatta, the NH Championships and the Head of the Fish), a full slate of spring races (including the Amber Zapakota Memorial, the Saratoga Invitational and the NE Youth Championships). There is no experience required to join either fall or spring seasons. 99% of those that join have never rowed before. Come be a cox and work on your leadership skills or be a rower and power our 60ft boats!

    6:00 - 7:30pm | Monthly during GAPP years | W2039

The German American Partnership Program (GAPP) is a family-based cultural and academic exchange that has been in place between Concord High School and the Maximilian Kolbe Gymnasium in Wegberg, Germany since 1981. Every other fall (ending in an odd-numbered year) German students visit Concord for one month, living in the homes of selected CHS students and attending CHS. The following summer, those CHS students travel to Germany, live for one month in Wegberg with their host brother or sister's family, attend our partner school, and enjoy excursions to neighboring cities and sites. This program is designed to build understanding and friendship between German and American high school students and their families. It not only deepens and enhances the participants' knowledge and appreciation of the host country, but also to enable young people to become more aware of their own culture and values. Students will improve their language skills, experience another culture as a member of a family, form international friendships, become more globally conscious and, of course, have fun! Contact Frau Coughlin or Herr von Stein for more information!

Tidal Force team #1721 is a competitive global FIRST Robotics team. Our mission is to 'inspire students and the Greater Concord Community to solve complex problems and to change the world.' Financially we operate and are supported by the 501(c)3 organization, Concord Robotics. Each year we are tasked with designing and building a robot to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition which is held in March-April, however we do work year round as we are more than robots. While you will learn the mechanical, electrical, CAD and software skills needed to build a competitive robot, you will also learn about and be expected to participate in community outreach, business and fundraising events that are necessary to keep the team operating. Students will develop leadership and soft skills including communication, and networking as they work cooperatively with their peers, adult mentors and industry professionals. There is no fee to participate and students do not need any prior experience but should have an interest in STEAM. The team generally meets twice a week after school until 5pm beginning in September, which is when training begins. There are occasions where additional meeting days will be needed. FIRST kicks off the robotics build season in January which lasts for 6-8 weeks. During this time the team meets 7 days per week. Competitions take place in March-April throughout New England so there is some travel during this time. World Championships are held in April, qualifying teams travel to Houston, TX to compete. FIRST likes to say, 'Robotics is the hardest fun you will ever have'. Parent participation is encouraged. This team provides an opportunity for students to receive Extended Learning Opportunity course credit.

'Nothing About Us Without Us.' The primary goals for the CHS Student Voice Committee are to improve school culture and develop leadership skills. We hope to accomplish these primary goals by engaging young people in the decision-making process at school. We believe that schools function better when there is true communication between students and adults in the building, and that students can provide valuable expertise to adults on how to foster a more positive school culture. Students can and should be a school leader's greatest ally in developing school improvement. In order to be true partners with adults, we believe young people have to develop key leadership skills, including; working collaboratively in a team setting, public speaking, critical thinking, and advocacy.

The mission of the Tide Pride Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is to bring together members of the LGBTQ+ community and their straight allies to fight to end homophobia and transphobia on campus and in the community. Tools to help accomplish this mission include: activities that advocate making Concord High School and its surrounding community safe and welcoming to all students regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity and expression, as well as social gatherings that inform the general public about our cause.
